Our intensive IELTS exam preparation course program is structured around the IELTS exam test itself. The course begins with a demo test, which the students and instructor use as a benchmark to highlight students’ strengths and weaknesses. The instructor will review the test in detail with students to discover the students’ main areas of understanding and lack thereof. Next, the instructor will establish a routine for delivering and analyzing information from lectures, interviews, conversations, academic articles, the latest news, and other sources so that students will build skills using authentic materials. The course is further reinforced with intensive grammar, vocabulary, and test-taking skill development exercises from a IELTS textbook. In addition, students will learn essential test-taking techniques relative to strategy, time management, and decision making.

Our entire curriculum of the IELTS exam preparation course is electronically based so that students can track their scores and their progression through an online learning management system. Teachers also bring their own individual score tracking methods to help students know where they achieving results and where they have room for improvement. We use score tracking techniques that allow teachers to collect students’ performance data on simulated practice tests. This tracking better informs teachers and students where attention needs to be given and how to adjust the class throughout the quarter to address students’ academic needs. Teachers will then generate reports and analytics to assess improvement and progress. Each student is equipped with their own computer and various types of practice test software. Students submit multiple-choice test responses to the online learning management system, and they submit speaking and writing tasks to a digital platform for the teacher to review

That’s why LASC’s IELTS program permits no more than 10 students in each classroom. By doing so, we ensure that teachers are able to give tailored instruction to each student’s needs and abilities. It also promotes a classroom to have more flexibility to operate under varied teaching modalities. With a smaller teacher-to-student ratio, students can come to class feeling confident that any concern that they have with the course materials, no matter how big or small, will be addressed promptly and directly. Finally, the small groups also permits the students to get to know each other and support each other as they all strive towards the same goal of getting a high IELTS band.
